Sunflower dolls dress crochet pattern
Thanks for checking out my Sunflower dolls dress crochet pattern. With summer fast approaching and the spring weather getting warmer I got inspired to create a little summer dress for my daughters 18″ child doll. I absolutely adore sunflowers so had to include them in the design! The set includes a halter neck dress and a matching headband.
Sunflower dolls dress description
The Sunflower dolls dress crochet pattern bundle includes a halter neck dolls dress with a sunflower applique and a matching headband. The outfit is made using the shell stitch for a lovely texture and beachy theme. The dress has a halter neck which ties up around the neck and a draw string style belt around the waist. The dolls dress also has a matching headband! The dolls clothes are designed to fit 18″ child dolls and can be adjusted slightly for smaller or larger waists by adjusting hook sizes. More info is included in the pattern about this.
How it’s made
The Sunflower dolls dress crochet pattern is easy-intermediate skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches. The pattern uses the shell stitch which is super easy to follow. The crochet pattern involves very minimal sewing, to be more specific you will need to sew up the the sunflowers onto your dress and headband, the rest is made in one piece. The doll clothes work up super quick and uses DK (weight 3) yarn. I used a 4mm crochet hook to make my doll clothes but I recommend using a 4.5mm hook if your 18″ doll has a larger waist. More detailed information on sizing is included in the pattern. Gauge is very important for this pattern as you want you doll clothes to fit. The doll’s crochet dress and headband uses approximately 38g (108m/119yd) of yarn.

Abbreviations
ch – chain
MR – magic ring
sl st – slip stich
st / sts – stitch / stitches
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (2 single crochet in one space)
dc – double crochet
5dc – increase/shell (5 double crochet in one space)
Gauge / tension
Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.
4mm hook – 2” x 2” = 10 rows of 9 sc
4.5mm hook – 2” x 2” = 9 rows of 8 sc
Finished sizes (small/medium)
Dress – L21cm x W17cm / L21cm x W17cm
Headband – L16cm x W2cm / L17cm x W2cm
Sunflower – D 5cm / D 5.5cm
Pattern notes
I do not count chains or finishing slip stitches in my stitch count. Numbers in brackets are the number of rows/stitches.
Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, inc) would mean sc in first stitch then inc in next stitch. eg. (sc x 2, inc) would mean sc in first stitch, sc in second stitch, then inc in next stitch.
