Simple rose applique crochet pattern

Thanks for checking out my simple rose applique crochet pattern. I’m a little obsessed with these crochet roses lately so I thought id share them with you. You can sew them onto any of your projects to make them look instantly pretty! What’s more, they use up hardly any yarn and take just minutes to make!

Rose applique description

The simple rose appliques measure approximately 2″ but this will depend on how tightly you wrap them up. I used DK yarn and a 4mm crochet hook to make mine. You can experiment with different size yarns and hooks to make roses of various sizes. I have also included a simple leaf pattern to complete the rose applique.

How it’s made

The simple rose applique crochet pattern is beginner skill level. You will need to know all your basic crochet stiches to complete the pattern. The pattern involves some very basic sewing. Overall its a very fast easy crochet pattern that’s great for using up scraps of yarn. To make the crochet roses I used DK (weight 3) yarn. I used a 4mm crochet hook. As I mentioned above you could totally use different yarn weights or hooks to make your roses various sizes. The crochet rose applique uses approximately 5g (15m/17yd) of yarn.
