Shooting star dolls pyjamas crochet pattern

Thanks for checking out my Shooting star dolls pyjamas crochet pattern. To celebrate my daughter finally giving up her dummy (aka pacifier) we bought her a ‘big girl’ doll. Of course we couldn’t leave out her big sister so they now have one each. Unfortunately only one of the dolls came with a surprise set of pyjamas so I quickly got to work on crocheting a new set. I think i’m now a little hooked and have been designing doll clothes all week!

Shooting star doll pyjamas description

The shooting star doll pj’s include a pyjama top, pants and even a matching sleep mask! The top buttons up at the back to make it easier to dress your doll. The nightwear set is designed to fit 18″ child dolls and can be adjusted slightly for smaller or larger waists by adjusting hook sizes. The design includes a cute shooting star applique.

How it’s made

The shooting star dolls pyjamas and sleep mask crochet pattern is easy skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches, simple increase and decrease as well as be able to work into the back loops and magic ring. The pattern involves very minimal sewing and tapestry. It works up super quick and uses aran (weight 4) yarn. I used a 5mm crochet hook to make my doll clothes but I recommend using a 5.5mm hook if your 18″ doll has a larger waist. More detailed information on sizing is included in the pattern. Gauge is very important for this pattern as you want you doll clothes to fit. The doll’s crochet pyjamas set uses approximately 87g (191yds) of yarn.

Abbreviations

ch – chain

MR – magic ring

sl st – slip stich

st / sts – stitch / stitches

sc – single crochet

2sc – increase (2 single crochet in one space)

sc2tog – decrease (single crochet 2 together)

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

2dc – increase (2double crochet in one space)

tr – treble crochet

Gauge / tension

Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.

5mm hook – 2” x 2” = 8 rows of 7 sc

5.5mm hook – 2″ x 2″ = 7 rows of 7 sc

Finished sizes (small/medium)

Mask – W 9cm x H 5cm / W 9cm x H 5cm

Pants – L 24cm x W 14cm / L 25cm x W 15cm

Top – L 14cm x W 14cm / L 15cm x W 15cm

Pattern notes

I do not count chains or finishing slip stitches in my stitch count. Numbers in brackets are the number of rows/stitches.

Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, inc) would mean sc in first stitch then inc in next stitch. eg. (sc x 2, inc) would mean sc in first stitch, sc in second stitch, then inc in next stitch.
