Lips appliqué crochet pattern
Thanks for checking out my lips appliqué crochet pattern. With the Valentine’s Day approaching i was inspired to make a pair of lips to sew onto my patchwork blanket. As with all appliqués you can sew them onto almost anything to create a Valentine’s theme.
Lips appliqué description
The lips appliqué measures 8cm wide by 4cm high when using DK yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. You can sew them onto almost anything, the possibilities are endless. Be sure to tag me when you share on social media. I’d love to see what you used yours for!
How it’s made
The lips appliqué crochet pattern is beginner skill level. You’ll need to know all your basic crochet stitches. To make the lips appliqué I used red DK (weight 3) yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. The pattern is very quick and easy and is great way to use up yarn scraps.

Abbreviations
ch – Chain
st/sts – Stitch/stitches
sl st – Slip stitch
sc – Single crochet
hdc – Half double crochet
dc – Double crochet
tr – Treble crochet
2tr/4tr – Increase (2/4 treble crochet in one space)
Gauge / tension
Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.
4mm hook – 2” x 2” = 7 rows of 9 hdc
Finished size – 8cm x 4cm
Pattern notes
I do not count chains in my stitch count.
Numbers in brackets are the number of rows/stitches.
Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, dc) would mean sc in first stitch then dc in next stitch. eg. (sc x2, dc) would mean sc in first stitch, single crochet in second stitch, then dc in next stitch.
When fastening off leave a long tail for sewing if you are attaching the appliqué to something. If you are not sewing the appliqué to anything weave in ends.
Supplies
You will need the following supplies to complete the crochet project (links will take you directly to my recommended supplies)
