Dolls Halloween witch costume crochet pattern

Thanks for checking out my dolls Halloween witch costume crochet pattern. With Halloween just around the corner I wanted to make something for my girls to play with. They’ve had lots of fun playing trick or treating with their dolls with this Halloween costume. I love watching their imaginations spark and listening to the little stories they create with their dolls, especially now they have a scary witch in their collection.

Witch costume description

The dolls Halloween witch costume includes a witches hat and a cute witches dress. The Halloween costume is designed to fit 12″ fashion dolls. The dress had a fitted waist, ruffled trim and a corset design on the front. The dress is strapless and fastens at the back with a single button.

How it’s made

The dolls Halloween witch costume is easy skill level. You will need to know all your basic crochet stitches to complete the pattern as well as knowing how to work into the back loops. There is minimal sewing and tapestry involved in this crochet project, to expand you’ll need to sew on a button and the corset straps. The crochet project works up quickly and can be made using a small amount of scrap yarn. To make the Halloween costume I used DK (weight 3) yarn. I also used a 3.5mm crochet hook but you may need to adjust your hook after completing your gauge swatch. Completing your gauge swatch is highly recommended before starting your project to ensure the sizing is correct. The dolls outfit uses just 20g (57m/63yds) of yarn.

Abbreviations

ch – Chain

sl st – Slip stich

dc – Double crochet

2dc – Increase (2 double crochet in 1 space)

Gauge / tension

Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.

2″ x 2″ = 6 rows of 10 dc

Finished sizes

To fit 12″ fashion dolls.

Dress: 12cm length

Hat: 18cm diameter, 5cm height

Pattern notes

I do not count chains or slip stitches in my stitch count. Numbers in brackets are the number of stitches in the row.

I chose to change colours while completing the last stitch on the previous row. You can use this method or your preferred colour changing method.

Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc,dc) would mean sc in the first stich, dc in the second stitch. eg. (2hdc, hdc x 2) would mean 2hdc in the first stitch, 1hdc in the second stitch, 1hdc in the third stich.
