Cutie bear doll hat crochet pattern

Thanks for checking out my cutie bear doll hat crochet pattern. This little dolls hat really couldn’t be cuter, hence the name! The hat is made for fit an 18″ child doll but its been tried and tested on various baby dolls and it fits them too. Its super fast and easy to make and is great for using up any scraps of yarn you’ve been accumulating.

Doll hat description

The cutie bear doll hat is designed to fit 18″ dolls but fits nicely on 16″ baby dolls too. The simple beanie is mostly made using the half double crochet and has a basic cuff. The dolls hat is topped with crochet roses, leaves and of course cute little bear ears. The pattern uses very little yarn and works up super fast.

How it’s made

The cutie bear doll hat crochet pattern is easy skill level. You will need to know all your basic crochet stiches to complete the pattern. The pattern itself is pretty easy and would be suitable for beginners with good sewing skills. Overall its a very fast easy crochet pattern that’s great for using up scraps of yarn and will definitely put a smile on any doll loving child’s face. To make the dolls hat I used DK (weight 3) yarn. I used a 4mm crochet hook. Please check your gauge before starting and adjust your hook if you need too. This will ensure that the hat fits your doll. The crochet bear dolls hat uses approximately 28g (79m/87yd) of yarn.

Abbreviations

ch – chain

blo – back loop only

sl st – slip stich

st / sts – stitch / stitches

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

tr – treble crochet

inc – increase (2 hdc stitches in one space)

hdc2tog – decrease (half double crochet 2 together)

Gauge / tension

Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.

4mm hook – 2” x 2” = 7 rows of 9 hdc

Finished size

Hat – 12cm x 17cm

Pattern notes

I do not count chains or finishing slip stitches in my stitch count. Numbers in brackets are the number of rows/stitches.

Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, 2hdc) would mean sc in first stitch then 2 hdc in the next stitch. eg. (sc x 2, 2hdc) would mean sc in first stitch, sc in second stitch, then 2 hdc in next stitch.
