C2C heart cushion crochet pattern

Thanks for checking out my C2C heart cushion crochet pattern. I wanted to make some cushions for my children’s bunk beds and came up with this pretty yet simple design. I think it would also make a lovely Valentine’s Day gift. It would also look great in more neutral colours too, especially if you wanted it for your sofa.

C2C Heart description

As you can see I have used the C2C heart to make a cushion, it measures 18” x 18” so it’s the perfect size to insert a ready made 18”cushion. That being said you don’t have to use it for a cushion. In fact some of my pattern testers used it as a wall hanging and a tote bag! You could even sew them together to make a blanket. It’s made up of 25×25 C2C blocks so if you did want to make a blanket you could use it along side other 25×25 squares.

How it’s made

The C2C heart cushion crochet pattern easy skill level. You’ll need to know the C2C technique before starting as this is a pattern not a tutorial. Each block is made up of 3 dc. Ive included the C2C graph to this post for free. If you prefer written instructions along side a graph you can purchase my printable PDF from my Etsy or Ravelry store. To make the C2C heart cushion I used DK (weight 3) yarn in two colours and a 4mm crochet hook. You’ll also need a 18” square cushion. Don’t forget it’s important to remember to do your gauge swatch before starting if you want your cushion to fit.

B – Blue 110m / 120yd

P – pink 137m / 150yd

ch – Chain

sc – Single crochet

dc – Double crochet

sl st – Slip stitch

Block – C2C block made up of 3 dc

sp / sps – space/spaces

WS – Wrong side

RS – right side

Gauge / tension

Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.

4mm hook – 2” x 2” square = 4 rows of 8 dc

Finished size – 18” x 18”

Pattern notes

I do not count chains in my stitch count.

Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces eg. (sc, inc) would mean sc in first stitch then inc in next stitch.

You will need the following supplies to complete the crochet project (links will take you directly to my recommended supplies)

– Crochet hooks

– DK yarn

– Tapestry needle

– Stitch markers (optional)

– scissors

– Tape measure

– 18” square cushion
