Bunny appliqué crochet pattern
Thanks for checking out my Easter bunny applique crochet pattern. With Easter fast approaching I couldn’t resist designing a crochet bunny applique. If you follow my blog you probably know I’m currently working on a patchwork blanket for my daughters. I plan to fill each square with a different appliqués until I have a big blanket full of the things they love most. A Cute Easter bunny just had to be included! If you love appliques as much as me check out my appliqués page to find more free crochet patterns.
Easter bunny appliqué description
The crochet bunny appliqué measures 8cm wide by 18cm high while standing upright. I made my bunny in grey, white and pink but you can experiment with other colours too. The bunnies head, arm, bushy tail and body are made in separate pieces so you can make different poses and your applique will have more of a 3D effect. The pattern also includes a carrot for your bunny to hold. You can use your crochet bunny appliqué to brighten up almost any of your crochet projects. Bunnies are not just popular for Easter creations but can be used all year round too.
How it’s made
The Easter bunny applique crochet pattern is easy skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches, simple increases/decreases and know how to work into a magic ring and the raw edge. The crochet pattern also requires some basic sewing and tapestry. To make the crochet bunny appliqué I used 3 colours of DK (weight 3) yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. I used a further 2 colours for his carrot. I also used 6mm safety eyes on my bunny, don’t worry if you don’t have any you could just use some yarn and a tapestry needle to create some. Also, because no bunny would be complete without a bushy tail you will need a pom-pom, I made my own but you could use a ready made one if you’d prefer. The whole appliqué including the carrot and pompom uses just 11g (34yds) of yarn.

dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
sc2tog – decrease (single crochet 2 together)

4mm hook – 2” x 2” = 11 rows of 9 hdc
Finished sizes
(width x height)
Bunny head – 5cm x 9cm
Bunny body – 8cm x 10cm
Carrot – 2cm x 6cm
Pattern notes
I do not count chains in my stitch count.
Numbers in brackets are the number of rows/stitches.
Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, inc) would mean sc in first stitch then inc increase in next stitch. eg. (sc x2, inc) would mean sc in first stitch, single crochet in second stitch, then increase in next stitch.
Make all colour changes at the end of the previous row.
When fastening off leave a long tail for sewing if you are attaching the appliqué to something. If you are not sewing the appliqué to anything weave in ends.

You will need the following supplies to complete the crochet project (links will take you directly to my recommended supplies)
