Baby doll hat & mittens crochet pattern
Thanks for checking out my baby doll hat & mittens crochet pattern. To begin my youngest daughter just loves baby dolls! She spends hours looking after them and was absolutely delighted when she woke up and found her favourite doll in her new hat and mittens. Of course I have since had requests for new colours which is fine because they were so quick and easy to make and used hardly any yarn.
Doll hat & mittens description
The hat and mittens should fit most baby dolls. I’ve tested them on a range of different sized baby dolls plus a 18” child doll. The dimensions of the hat are 12x17cm and the mittens measure 6x5cm.
How it’s made
The baby doll hat and mittens crochet pattern is beginner skill level. You’ll need to know basic crochet stitches. Additionally you’ll need to know how to increase/decrease as well as knowing how to work into the back loop only. To make the baby doll hat & mittens I used deep red DK (weight 3) yarn and a 4mm crochet hook. Don’t forget it’s important to remember to do your gauge swatch before starting if you want your hat & mittens to fit.

st/sts – Stitch/stitches
sl st – Slip stitch
blo – Back loop only
sc – Single crochet
hdc – Half double crochet
hdc2tog – Half double crochet 2 together (decrease)
Gauge / tension
Gauge is important as everyone crochets with a different tension. Therefore, if your 2” swatch doesn’t match up you can change your hook size to suit your tension.
2” x 2” = 6 rows of 8 hdc
Finished sizes – Hat – 12cm x 17cm, Mittens – 6cm x 5cm
Pattern notes
I do not count chains in my stitch count.
Numbers in brackets are the number of rows/stitches.
Stitches separated with a comma are to be made in separate spaces. eg. (sc, inc) would mean sc in first stitch then inc increase in next stitch. eg. (sc x 2, inc) would mean sc in first stitch, single crochet in second stitch, then increase in next stitch.
Supplies
You will need the following supplies to complete the crochet project (links will take you directly to my recommended supplies)
